A private daily journal, encrypted

One intention in the morning, a few lines at night, and gratitude in between. Encrypted at rest with AES-256.

Private Journal

A journal only works if you trust it. Every entry in Intentional is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using a key unique to your account, so your words are unreadable in the database. You can export them anytime, and deleting your account erases them for good.

Writing is easier with a nudge. Each day gets a thoughtful prompt (shuffle it if it doesn’t fit), a lined page that saves as you type, and a three-line gratitude section. Your entries connect to your day rating and habits, so your monthly review can surface patterns you would never notice on your own.

How it works

1

Morning intention

Write one sentence about what matters today.

2

Evening reflection

Answer a prompt or free-write. It autosaves as you type, even offline-ish on flaky connections.

3

Look back

Search past entries and see them next to your mood, habits and meals.

What you get

  • AES-256 encryption at rest
  • Daily prompts that rotate
  • Gratitude journal built in
  • Autosave while typing
  • Full-text search of your entries
  • Export everything as JSON

FAQ

Who can read my journal?

Only you, when signed in. Entries are encrypted in the database with a per-user key, access requires your session, and you can add two-factor authentication.

Is the AI reading my journal?

Your journal text is not sent to the AI. Monthly and yearly reviews use numbers like word counts and ratings, not your private writing.

Can I export my journal?

Yes. Settings → Your data → Export gives you a JSON file of everything, decrypted, at any time.
